Pay attention to the structure of the job-post
  • Ideally, start by introducing the basic information like location, the Company, highlight its mission, values, industry recognition, followed by the required-job role along with the role’s hierarchy, required minimum qualification, skill-set, experience and other important criterial etc. aligning it with the company.
  • Create a simple ‘what-you-will-be-doing’ section and highlight specific responsibilities of the job to make it better.
  • Customise the Job Posting Page appealing to a specific talent segment. For e.g. hiring for senior positions, interns, freshers etc.
  • Post it on multiple portals to ensure creating a bigger talent pool. Also share on social portals and don’t forget paying attention to the other important ones like Glassdoor, Indeed etc.
  • Tag your job advertisement to multiple industry segments, expand the acronyms (if any) to increase the visibility in search results by seekers. Also consider sponsoring the job posting for more visibility.

Finding the right candidates on Job Portals

Finding the right candidates on Job Portals

Job portals are the centralized area for recruiters and job seekers to meet each other. Employers post their job vacancies and candidates upload their resumes in portals to not miss out the chance of recruiters finding them. It is a valuable database of people who aren’t actively looking for a job but who are open to new opportunities. Recruiters focus on their desired audience; strategically narrow down prospective candidates using specific criteria and filters to upgrade their workforce. So job portals continue to remain the most widely used recruitment mechanism with promising features to help recruiter and job seekers find the right candidate and jobs respectively.

The present job market is too much crowded with different job portals. There are multiple Job aggregators, job boards, assessment platforms, non-tech job portals, premium talent job portals, portals for tech hiring, blue-collar job portals & so on. Overtime the candidate database increases greatly making it impossible to figure out which candidate seem to be relevant or better for the job at hand. So the recruitment portals with large data sees no difficulties in locating right people but faces big hurdle in finding out the right talent for a particular job role.

Challenge in hiring the right talent

Hiring good employees has always been challenging, many recruiters have shared that out of such 3000 applications, only 5% of them are relevant enough for shortlisting. Portals with only basic keyword-based job matching pushes hundreds of jobs to job seekers. So user applies to the job vacancy that rarely match the actual skills and preferences that recruiter look for. Thus burdening recruiters with futile data.

Fasten and streamline hiring process

Candidates apply resume using standard norms without more or no customization at all. Unfortunately, this practice dramatically increases the odds that a resume will be instantly qualified for the job role. Streamline the resume data with advanced parsing tool which works on keywords that indicate that an applicant fits a particular job. As top talent stays available on the market for only few days, fastening the streamline process and queuing the candidate significantly increases the chance of filling the job vacancies easily.

Building candidate database with a accurate sourcing tool

A well built candidate database saves your time and allows you to keep track of the best applicants and prospects for current and future positions. Today, there are powerful sourcing tools that find and extract candidates profiles and add them directly to your talent pool. These tools help you find candidates that match both the position and company culture.

Eventually, job portals need to evolve into hybrid platforms encompassing various technologies for better and more effective matching of people to opportunities.
